Round 7 graduates: celebrated the graduation of 30 remarkable women from Hiwyet Charity Association's Empowerment Program during Ashenda Festival
Mek’elē, Tigray, Ethiopia – Against the vibrant backdrop of the annual Ashenda festival, a powerful story of resilience and empowerment unfolded. Thirty Tigrayan women, survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), celebrated their graduation from Hiwyet Charity Association’s (HCA) comprehensive program. The joyous occasion, coinciding with the traditional harvest festival, marked a significant turning point in their lives, signifying triumph over immense personal challenges.
The graduates completed rigorous training encompassing psychological healing and economic empowerment. This intensive program provided essential support, equipping them with coping mechanisms to process past trauma and vital skills to build independent and sustainable futures. Many described the program as life-changing, offering a pathway to healing, self-reliance, and a renewed sense of hope.
