About Hiwyet Charity Association
Our aim is to create
a world where every woman and girl in Tigray can live a life free from fear, violence, and inequality.
Hiwyet Charity Association (HCA) was founded in 2023 by Meseret Hadush, a passionate advocate for women’s rights who has dedicated her life to combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Inspired by her personal experiences and the challenges faced by countless women in the region, Meseret established HCA to provide support, healing, and empowerment for survivors. Our organization is driven by the belief that every woman deserves to live in dignity and without fear.
Our mission at HCA is to eradicate Gender-Based Violence and create a safe and supportive environment for survivors in Tigray. We aim to empower women through comprehensive support services, economic opportunities, and advocacy, fostering a culture of respect and equality.
We envision a Tigray where all women live free from violence, have equal access to opportunities, and are empowered to lead their lives with confidence and dignity. By working closely with communities, partners, and survivors, we are building a future where GBV is no longer tolerated.
We have helped More than 5800 Women
We plan to extend this support to an additional 550 women each year , the strategic plan outlines a
clear pathway for scaling up HCA's efforts and reaching more individuals in need.
